Find the right size for your room.
Compare piano types and dimensions before choosing. Measure the instrument, bench space, and delivery access so the piano fits comfortably in your home.

Plan your space.
Piano dimensionsCompare the exact model’s width, depth, and height.
Grand pianos are grouped by length, from the keyboard to the tail. Uprights are grouped by height; their width and front-to-back depth still determine the floor space they need. Compare the exact model’s overall dimensions, including its cabinet and keyboard.
Our grand browsing groups are petite & baby grand (4′ to 5′), baby & parlor grand (5′1″ to 6′), conservatory grand (6′1″ to 7′), and semi-concert grand (7′1″ to 8′). Upright height groups are spinet (36″ to 39″), console (40″ to 44″), studio (45″ to 47″), and professional upright (48″ to 60″). These groups help you compare; they are not exact model specifications.
Playing spaceAllow for the bench, furniture, and everyday movement.
Measure the bench in its playing position and allow space to sit down, adjust it, and move around. Include furniture, door swings, and everyday routes through the room. For a grand, check the lid’s opening clearance; for an upright, follow the manufacturer’s guidance for space behind the cabinet.
The tool compares an empty rectangular room. A piano that fits inside that rectangle may still need a different position in a furnished room. Bring your room measurements and photos to a gallery visit so we can discuss the layout.
Delivery accessCheck doors, turns, stairs, and the route into the room.
Measure the narrowest doors, halls, turns, stairs, and elevator openings along the delivery route. Note steps and access restrictions at the property. Room fit and delivery access are separate checks: a piano mover should assess the route and handling requirements for the particular instrument.
